Artist Statement
I aspire to be a ledge of inspiration for dancers to bring to light their power within themself. For all to realize their capability and potential we have as humans if we let go and embrace ourselves and the people around us. I aim to generate a judge free space, where anyone who steps in will feel safe to be who they want to be or simply be unapologetically. We can express our inner thoughts, emotions through breath and movement while allowing stillness to be an option if chosen. It is always a pleasure to collaborate with artists side by side to create with all the various tools and blend of ideas we can fuse to produce art. Music is an essential complement for my movement. Whether it be the emotions that drive the voice in the song, the sounds of the instruments I decide to follow or not, my body and soul become one. My movement and creations are influenced by the people that have impacted my dance journey and all the experiences I have lived so far. Sometimes my intentions and creations will be influenced by a distant longing, wish for change, or a dream I have for the world, others and myself. At times my presence and current state of mind takes place and i listen. I strongly believe dance should be accessible to all people no matter what race or social economic background/status they are in. Everyone deserves dance and be able to experience it. I am a brace to the communities I am surrounded by and can be someone they can simply breath with and move with.
